HATTIESBURG, MISS. – This Friday night, former Heisman Trophy winner and Florida quarterback Tim Tebow along with his foundation will sponsor an event at Temple Baptist Church called a Night to Shine. The event features a prom night experience centered on God's love. The event is for people with special needs, who are ages 14 and older.
"We'll have a variety of activities including limousine rides in our parking lot. Every guest will be announced as they walk the red carpet. They'll be applauded and cheered for,” Kelli Brent, the Children’s Director at Temple Baptist Church said. “The highlight of the night comes when we do our crowning on our gym floor at 7:30 every guest is told they are kings and queens of the prom because that's the way God sees them, and they'll all be crowned with a crown or tiara. We'll have a special message from Tim Tebow recognizing them and letting them know they are loved and they are valued."
Temple Baptist Church is one of more than 500 churches around the world that will host a Night to Shine. Currently, the event takes place in 50 states and 16 countries.
