(The following press release was submitted to MyFOX23.com from the City of Hattiesburg.)
The City of Hattiesburg announces three more key assignments with Urban Development and Parks and Recreation: Myron Lott as division manager of programming, Jay Hester as assistant division manager of community centers and Chris Price as division manager for code enforcement.
Lott has served the City of Hattiesburg for five years and has played an integral part in programming recreation opportunities for youth in Hattiesburg. Ann Jones, chief administrative officer, believes Lott’s strong work ethic and methodical approach to programming will add to the long-term success of Parks and Recreation.
“I’ve been fortunate to watch Myron grow as a programmer during his time with the City,” said Chief Administrative Officer Ann Jones. “His approach to work is deliberately driven by compassion and a desire to provide the best recreational opportunities for our city. He will fill this role well.”
Hester has worked with the City for 12 years, and both Jones and Rebecca Acker, division manager for community centers, can attest to his commitment to providing exemplary customer service and going the extra mile to make sure projects are completed.
“Jay takes pride in providing quality service to the community,” said Acker. “He is a team player, and I know he will continue to go above and beyond in this role. I believe he’ll set the best example for employees who get an opportunity to work with him.”
When it comes to a broad range of experience rooted in process and linked by a strong community spirit, Director of Urban Development Andrew Ellard believes that Chris Price is an instrumental hire for code enforcement.
“Chris Price has an extensive career that ranges from military service and real estate development to serving our community in a variety of capacities,” said Ellard. “His attention to detail, experience with code enforcement at the neighborhood level and compassion to serve the residents of Hattiesburg make him an asset to this department and to all of Hattiesburg.”
All hires and promotions are effective immediately.
