PRCC 12th Annual Observance of Black History Month

HATTIESBURG, MISS. - Tuesday, Pearl River Community College (PRCC) in Hattiesburg, held its 12th annual Black History Program. The program featured local executive pastor from West Point Baptist, Tony A. Reimonenq, Jr. who spoke about faith being one of the key components in the civil rights movements. “Well, Black History Month I want them to know that it's American history and not reduce it to a month, but it's what blacks have contributed to America,” Reimonenq said. “So, that's what I want them to know and the principle that people before us exuded was faithfulness in spite of… putting one foot in front of the other, in spite of the conditions, in spite of the circumstances. No excuse. “ The PRCC History and Humanities Club helped make Tuesday’s event possible.
