Mississippi Senate passes bill banning abortion after 15 weeks
The State Senate passes House Bill 1510, which seeks to ban abortion after 15 weeks of gestation.
Mississippi would lead the nation and become the first state to pass such a bill, Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves said. HB1510 was held on a procedural motion before returning to the State House.
“Mississippians are committed to protecting the lives of unborn children, and this law will be a major step in accomplishing that goal,” Reeves said. “I am committed to making Mississippi the safest place in America for an unborn child,” Reeves added.
