Greg Burroughs Attorney Requests A Change of Venue

HATTIESBURG, MISS. - The attorney for a Jones County man accused of killing his girlfriend has filed a motion for a change of venue, claiming his client cannot receive a fair trial. 38-year-old Greg Burroughs was indicted by a Jones County grand jury on manslaughter charges in connection with the death of his girlfriend, 23-year-old Katherine Sinclair. She was found dead sitting in her car in Burroughs garage in early June with a bullet wound to the head. Burroughs claimed she shot herself. He was indicted four months later. Attorney Tracey Klein of Hattiesburg filed the motion for change of venue in Jones County Circuit Court saying the extreme publicity surrounding the case prevents his client from getting a fair trial. No hearing date has been set. Burroughs manslaughter trial is scheduled for June 6.
