HATTIESBURG, MISS. - Residents in six different counties pay tribute to their elected officials Tuesday night. Residents who live District 41 of the State Senate and residents who live in District 90 for the House of Representatives decided to honor their elected officials, Senator Joey Filligane and Noah Sanford Thursday with an appreciation dinner. The officials find this gesture “very moving.”
“Moving would be the right word I guess,” Sen. Filligane said. “I’m very honored that the counties I serve in the state senate, thought enough of me… that they would do something like this here. To just recognize and the work that we do for the communities and the counties in the state legislator. It’s very gratifying.”
“Well it means a lot that they would go through the trouble of having an event for us,” Noah Sanford said.
Mike Chaney with the Mississippi Insurance Department served as the keynote speaker.
