Hyde-Smith meets with Mississippi delegates of Boys, Girls Nation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith this week met with Mississippi’s delegates to the 2018 American Legion Boys Nation and American Legion Auxiliary Girls Nation and commended them for representing the state well.

The delegates, (left to right) Gian Luigi Zaninelli of Hattiesburg, Mia Robertson of Starkville, Neilee James of Hattiesburg, and Ruben Banks of Jackson met with Hyde-Smith as part of the week-long Boys Nation and Girls Nation programs.

Banks, a Jim Hill High School ROTC cadet, and Oak Ridge High School’s Zaninelli were selected through the Mississippi Boys State program. James, a Presbyterian Christian School student, and Robertson, who attends Starkville High School, where chosen to attend Girls Nation by delegates at this year’s Mississippi Girls State program.

The Boys and Girls Nation programs focus on the operation and structure of government for delegates from their state’s respective Girls and Boys State programs.
