PSC holding hearing on Arnold Line Water Association

(The following is a press release from the Public Service Commission.)

On June 5, 2018, the Public Service Commission reopened an investigation into Arnold Line Water Association in Hattiesburg.

As part of the continued investigation, Southern District Commissioner Sam Britton will hold a public comment hearing on Thursday, October 25, at 6 p.m. in the Forrest County Chancery Building, Board Room, 641 Main St, Hattiesburg, MS 39401. All Arnold Line members are encouraged to attend and discuss the quality of service at the Association.

The Commission’s initial investigation in October of 2016 was driven in large part by an Association policy requiring bills or account numbers in order to make payment, a practice that is prohibited by state law. While Arnold Line eventually agreed to no longer enforce this requirement, a recent string of customer complaints warrants further investigation by the Commission.

When the investigation was reopened in June, Britton voiced his commitment to do whatever necessary to ensure that customers were being treated fairly at Arnold Line.

“As I’ve said before, the end result is for people to be treated fairly,” Britton said. “I look forward to visiting with members of Arnold Line and discussing the quality of service at the Association.”
