Upcoming blood drive to help FCSD team member

The Blue Blood Heroes Community Blood Drive, with Vitalant and the Forrest County Sheriff's Department, takes on extra meaning.

Vitalant tells FOX23 the event will serve as a blood replenishment drive for Deputy Lt. Terrell Carson, seen on the right of the photo submitted from Vitalant, as he battles against cancer. Sheriff Charlie Sims is seen on the left of the photo.

"If you can give blood, we want you to come out and give with us in this very special drive. If you can't donate, send someone who can, share this post, reach out to your friends, and most of all pray," Vitalant's John Pace said on Facebook.

The blood drive takes place on August 20th from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the FCMPC's Extension Center Auditorium.
