Three injured in vehicle vs power pole crash in Jones County
Saturday afternoon, April 25, three occupants of a Ford Mustang were transported to SCRMC in Laurel after crashing into a power pole at Township Road and Antioch Road in the Glade community of Jones County, knocking out power to the nearby neighborhood.
At approximately 3:45 p.m. emergency medical responders and rescue units from Glade and Powers Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the accident. Firefighters and EMServ medics worked simultaneously with the three occupants, one male and two females, (one female was pregnant), to extricate them from the vehicle. Hydraulic rescue tools were used to pry open the driver’s door to free the entrapped male driver.
All three were transported in two separate ambulances to SCRMC by EMServ ambulance with what was believed to be minor to moderate injuries.
Also responding to the accident was Jones County Fire Coordinator Dan McKenna, Jones County Sheriff’s Department, and Dixie Electric Power Association.
