“I’ve got a blank space baby”, and I’ll schedule you an appointment to donate blood! All donors who donate May 1st-19th are entered to win a pair of two day passes to Bayou Country Superfest at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. One winner will be pulled on May 20th. Donors who donate on our “Taylor Tuesdays”- May 5th, 12th and 19th ONLY- are entered to win a pair of Taylor Swift concert tickets! We will pull a winner each week, a total of 3 Taylor Swift concert ticket winners! Taylor Swift concert is also at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge on Friday, May 22nd. Bayou Country Superfest takes place on May 23rd & 24th.

All donors will also receive a “Southern Blood Forever” t-shirt, while supplies last.

As always, all blood types are needed in order to prevent any blood type shortages from occurring. Donors with negative blood types are asked to inquire with a United Blood Services staff member regarding qualifications to donate Double Red Cells. “We are excited to offer our donors the chance to win tickets to great concert entertainment here in the South! What’s even more exciting is always having an ample blood supply on hand when our friends and family are in need”, said Mitzi Breaux, Marketing and Communications Manager for United Blood Services. “Donating blood three times a year will help ensure that blood is always available in our community.”

Donors can also visit www.unitedbloodservices.org the day of their donation and click on the “Health History Questionnaire”. This allows donors to complete the interview portion of their donation online, in the privacy of their home or office. Make sure to print your “Fast track donation ticket” and bring it with you to your donation.

Volunteer blood donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Additional height/weight requirements apply to donors 22 and younger, and donors who are 16 years of age must have signed permission from a parent or guardian. The 16 year old donor permit form can be located at www.unitedbloodservices.org. Donors receive a free cholesterol test. Donors also earn points in our “Hero in Me” online rewards store.
