Two-vehicle accident in Jones County injures three

A two-vehicle accident on Highway 15 South at the intersection of Triangle Drive in the Glade community of Jones County Wednesday, May 13, sent three people to the hospital.

At 7:31 p.m., emergency medical responders and rescue units from Glade and Powers Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the accident involving two passenger vehicles.

The 16-year old female driver of one vehicle, and two passengers of the other vehicle, an eight-year old male and 24- year old male, were transported to South Central Regional Medical Center by EMServ Ambulance Service with what was believed to be minor injuries.

Highway 15 South was closed for almost an hour, while rescue operations and vehicle recovery were performed.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Jones County Sheriff’s Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol.
