MDOT to Begin Interstate 59 Resurfacing Project in Jones County Next Week

Jones Co, MS - Tuesday, June 2, 2015—The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) is scheduled to begin a resurfacing project along Interstate 59 from Rocky Creek in Ellisville to the 13th Avenue Overpass in Laurel.
Work on the eight mile project will begin Monday, June 8 at Rocky Creek. The $14.2 million project was awarded to Dunn Roadbuilders LLC. The project will include placement of an Open Graded Friction Course on the surface of the roadway, which is designed to improve visibility and water sheeting issues during rain events.
Work is scheduled for completion by November 2015.
