Pine Belt Idol returns to Hattiesburg for the last year
Last Chance to be on the Show that Started it All!
Hattiesburg, MS - Viewers of FOX 23 in Hattiesburg who always wanted to see their names alongside those of Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Chris Daughtry, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson or Kelly Clarkson will have one last chance to enter the world-famous American Idol contest.
FOX 23 is hosting auditions for the final season of the famous television show on August 11 at the Forrest County Multipurpose Center. The winner of the competition will receive a guaranteed audition at the Judges Round in Little Rock, as well as a meet and greet with Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr, and Keith Urban.
Jon Pollard, General Manager of FOX 23, says that contestants need to enter online. "This isn't a cattle-call style audition where everyone just shows up and gets on stage. This is the last season of American Idol, so this is a big event. Anyone who wants to enter can upload their audition video to youtube and submit it through our facebook page." Pollard says that the top 23 contestants from the online auditions will perform live in front of judges at the Forrest County Multipurpose Center. "We have held this event for a couple of years now, but it's really important this year because this is the final season. Last year, one of our contestants from Pine Belt Idol, Erica Washington, did really well on the TV show. We're hoping whoever wins this year will pick up the number one spot."
The event at the Multipurpose Center is free and open to the public to attend.

American Idol will broadcast its final season beginning in January of 2016.
