#WeAreHattie, City-Wide Day of Service Planned for Sept. 11
This September 11, as part of the National Day of Service, we invite the people of Hattiesburg to join together for #WeAreHattie, a city-wide day of community service and outreach.
#WeAreHattie t-shirts can be purchased online or in person at 1507 Hardy Street, Suite 208 in Hattiesburg. All proceeds from t-shirt sales will benefit the Community Enhancement fund at the Greater Pinebelt Community, an unrestricted fund for unmet community needs.
Hattiesburg residents, schools, churches, and community groups are encouraged to a ) sign up or b) create a volunteer opportunity for Sept. 11 at http://gvgb.co/2015wearehattie! People can make a pledge of service through Twitter or Facebook at #WeAreHattie. No effort is too small – visit an elderly neighbor, pick up litter, host a school supply drive, or bake cookies for first responders.
This initiative is organized through the efforts of Volunteer Hattiesburg, The Greater PineBelt Community Foundation, the City of Hattiesburg and the Center for Community and Civic Engagement at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Let’s celebrate Hattiesburg and remember #WeAreHattie all year, every year. For more Information, contact Volunteer Hattiesburg at 601.545.7141
