Fill-A-Truck Food Drive

Laurel - The Laurel Police Department is teaming up with Good Samaritans for its upcoming food drive. The "Fill a Truck" food drive is also partnering with Laurel's Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen.

LPD Captain, Tyrone Stewart said, "these goods will supply the Good Samaritans Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen located here in Laurel."

Good Samaritans Executive Director, Kathy Clem said, "we are the only places that low income struggling families that don't have a lot of food, resources, can come get a meal. Our Soup Kitchen, the only Soup Kitchen in Jones County has helped over 60,000 meals this year. 32,000 people have came to get help there and we're probably going to do about 80,000 meals this year in 2015."

If you want to donate, come and show your support on November 6th and 7th from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
