SEVERE WEATHER STORM DAMAGE REPORTED TO MEMA
Pearl, MS – The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency has received initial damage reports from four county emergency management agencies as a result of severe weather Saturday afternoon. No injuries are reported.
The counties reporting damages are as follows:
Clarke: Flash flooding affecting at least four businesses, the county emergency operations center and one home. MEMA Area Coordinator deployed to assist.
Marion: Damage to 10 homes.
Pearl River: Flooding, three structures damaged, power lines and trees down. MEMA Area Coordinator deployed to assist. MEMA contacted Mississippi State Department of Health to coordinate assistance for a family.
Wayne: Damage to one mobile home, power lines and trees down.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for additional rain tonight through Sunday so citizens are asked to stay alert for the possibility of flash flooding from the saturated ground. No severe storms are forecast for Sunday.
