Junior Auxiliary Humanitarian of the Year award
The Hattiesburg Junior Auxiliary announces its 2015 Humanitarian of the Year.
The award is given out every year to a member of the Pine Belt community who has positively impacted the lives of children and families in the Hattiesburg.
This year's award was given out to Homes of Hope Executive Director, Michael Garrett.
Garrett shares his thoughts on receiving this prestigious award.
"I probably wouldn't think so much of what it means to myself, but what it means to our ministry. We started off at the very bottom with just a vision and a dream. The lord has worked a miracle to take a ministry from there to where we are today. I think that our ability to impact the lives of children is something that this area desperately needed. The thing that breaks my heart are kids out there crying for help and not getting it. My focus has been since day one are trying to make the lives of children better."
