USM Gearing Up For Rice

.

Hattiesburg - Southern Miss is back in action after coming off their bye week.

The Golden Eagles had a chance to celebrate their sixth win and being bowl eligible, but now it's back to work as they are focusing on their next game.

USM Head Coach, Todd Monken said, "I think it came at a great time, we've gone nine straight weeks of playing games. Obviously we had all of two-a-days. So the guys really hadn't had a break. Where we're at right now is where you want to be. I don't know how many teams in the country can say it's November and they have a chance to play in a championship."

USM Defensive Coordinator, David Duggan said, "It should be a little bit of a bounce in your step and a little bit of confidence going into this week, because we're at a stretch where you control your own destiny and you can't ask for anything more as a player or as a coach."

The Golden Eagles will be traveling to Houston to take on the Owls of Rice. Kick-off is on Saturday at 2 p.m. central time and will be aired on FOX 23.
