LPD Arrest Burglar Suspect
Laurel, Miss. - Laurel Police Department has continued to serve and protect the streets of Laurel and today, just got a little bit safer for Laurel.
Laurel Police Captain, Tommy Cox said, "This morning a little bit after midnight, our officers arrested Terence Byrd in the 1000 hundred block of North 12th Ave. Mr. Byrd was arrested in connection with a burglary that was reported to the police department on the 9th."
Officers Driskell, Windsor, and Benson arrested Byrd.
Cox said, "He's currently held in Jones County Jail. We're charging him with one count of burglary and occupied dwelling. It's my understanding his bond was set in Laurel Municipal Court this morning at $20,000. Additionally, Mr. Byrd has a hold on him for the Mississippi Department of Corrections at this time. So it's unclear whether he'll even get the opportunity to the bond anytime soon."
