USM Professor receives legacy award

HATTIESBURG, Miss - The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) recently chose Dr. Frances A. Karnes, retired USM professor in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education as the recipient of their 2015 Legacy Award.

The award is given to individuals who have devoted their professional talents to enhancing the lives of gifted and talented learners.

Karnes mentioned, "It is an honor and privilege to receive this award." She further thanks the NAGC for their recognition and work in advancing the field.
