Local jeweler attends Chimneyville Crafts Festival

HATTIESBURG, Miss - 'Celebrating Exellence' is the theme this year for the 49th Annual Chimneyville Crafts Festival. The event will be held this Thursday thru Saturday at the Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson, which will feauture members of the Craftmen's Guild of Mississippi.

Local Hattiesburg artist, Susan Carruth, says, "It really is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist and to experience what can be done by hand. In a world where so many things that can be produced by the hundreds...to have items in your home with the actual thumbprint of the creator of the piece is a luxury."

The festival will feature approximately 170 booths of traditional and contemporary craft work.

It serves as an important revenue source for artisans to exhibit and sell their work and is the largest annual fundraiser for the Craftmen's Guild of Mississippi.
