William Carey Gets Cuddly for the Holidays

Hattiesburg, Miss. - William Carey got a little cuddly Tuesday with some of their four-legged friends from the Hub City Humane Society.

This was in effort by Gillespie Museum to attract more people to their museum to check out great art and to give students a break from preparing for their finals.

The Crusaders faculty and students had a great time playing with the puppies and kittens.

Gillespie Museum Graduate Assistant, Rick Wilemon said, “We invited students here today along with the Hub City Humane Society who brought puppies and kittens just for an opportunity to relax and enjoy some cuddles, and love, and most of all, I promised everyone if they got the fill a puppy and kitten breath, that they were guaranteed to pass their mid-terms."

William Carey student, Mackenzie Bell said, "I'm very excited. I'm liking the cats, the kittens. I named one of them Salt and Pepper II."

The Gillespie Museum has the largest and most expensive collection of artwork by 20th century Mississippi artists.
