Second annual Hearts of Hope with HPD

HATTIESBURG, Miss - The Hattiesburg Police Department celebrated their second year of Hearts of Hope with Ryan Motors and the Hattiesburg Civic Lights Opera.

Today they gave away gifts to twenty children living in shelters to honor them during this Christmas season.

"Oh all the officers are glad they are able to do this. We have all the divisions come together they help out with wrapping, like yesterday, the Detective Division went out with the Domestic Unit to give out gifts. It's just a really big blessing for us especially the community standing behind us the way they do" Lieutenant Traxler says.

Lt. Traxler mentions he wants these kids to know that police officers are present in positive situations too.
