Jones county sheriff department mourns loss of unexpected death of deputy

JONES COUNTY, Miss - This is a press release from the Jones County Sheriff Department.

Sheriff Alex Hodge and the Jones County Sheriff’s Department is saddened to report the loss of Deputy Charles Brent Beasley.

Deputy Beasley, born December 4, 1975 and from Amite County. He began his career in Law Enforcement in 2006 and worked for agencies in Ellisville and Liberty. Beasley was hired by the Jones County Sheriff’s Department in 2012 and was honored by his fellow Department members in 2014 as “Deputy of the Year”. His commitment to the community and his Department were quite obvious.

Sheriff Alex Hodge recalls his dedication as a member of the Jones County Sheriff’s Department, “Deputy Beasley was always available and ready to represent this Sheriff’s Department. His work ethic as well as his mild mannered ability to relate to the public made him a valuable asset to our team…our family.”

Deputy Beasley died of natural causes and will sorely be missed. Funeral arrangements are not finalized at this time, but will be made available soon.
