Coach Monken heads to the NFL
Hattiesburg, Miss. - There's some bitter-sweet news for Golden Eagle football fans.
Todd Monken has announced that he will step down as the head coach for Southern Miss.

Monken has decided to accept an offensive coordinator job for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Bill McGillis, Southern Miss director of athletics, thanked Monken for his service to the university and said that he left the program better than he found it.
Monken led the Golden Eagles to a 9-5 record, a C-USA West Division crown, and Southern Miss's first bowl appearance in four years.
Monken also received C-USA Coach of the Year this past season.
