Laurel Police involved in a standoff

Laurel, Miss. - A Laurel man is charged after a standoff over the weekend.

Police were dispatched to a home after shots were heard coming from it.

Police said Floyd Burk West Jr, 56, was barricaded inside a residence where he then fired multiple shots from a bedroom window.

Officers were able to negotiate with West, who eventually surrendered.

West is charged with attempted aggravated assault, among other things.

West has an official bond of $100,000.
