A new Veterans Affairs office opens in Sumrall
SUMALL, Miss - Lamar county houses nearly 4,000 veterans in the community. The Lamar County Veterans Affairs added a third office in Sumrall to serve veterans with their benefits.
Robert Robertson, Veterans Affairs Assistant in Sumrall says, "I opened the one in Sumrall to assist veterans obtaining their compensations or pensions. We got a lot of veterans in that area that do not know they deserve compensation for the war time situations they were in. My personal feeling is that God gave me a talent and I want to honor my God and help my fellow men obtain their benefits."
Robertson will be at the office on Mondays to serve veterans.
Currently the two offices are in Oak Grove and Purvis and are still operating normal business hours.
