'Compassion Tour' visits Pine Belt residents

HATTIESBURG, Miss - An interactive tour will be in Hattiesburg until Monday. The tour offers a different perspective of poverty from a child's life in a third world country.

During the tour attendees receive an iPod and headset to listen to while walking through different rooms.

Attendees hear the child's voice and his/her story that portrays the challenges of living in poverty.

Manager of Compassion Tour, Cole Beck says, "We release poverty from children in Jesus' name. Compassion International is a Christian based children sponsorship organization and the goal is to reach children with the gospel and with this ministry."

Tish Line a mother of two took her kids through the tour twice.

"For me as a mother it is very important to me that my children recognize that they are incredibly blessed to be here in this country...there are children across the world who do not even know that what my children complain about, they do not even know that they can ask for these things" Line says.

The tour travels across the country and is free. To make a reservation you can go to www.compassionexperience.com
