Southern Miss Loses their First Conference Game

Hattiesburg, Miss. - Southern Miss Men's Basketball team traveled Saturday night to Ruston, Louisiana for their first conference game against La Tech.

But this was a night that Golden Eagle fans may not want to remember.

The 6’8 La. Tech forward, Erick McCree, had a career night. McCree scored 30 points, and 23 of those 30 points were in the first half. Despite the 23 points McCree put up, the Golden Eagles only allowed 28 points in the first half. But the Golden Eagles could not stop La Tech in second half, as they lost 87-57.

The Golden Eagles’ next game is on Thursday at home against Charlotte at 7 p.m.
