Jenkins Receives C-USA's Freshman Player of the Week Award

Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Lady Golden Eagles enjoyed a good start to the new year as they took down LA Tech 69-59.

Louisiana freshman native, Caitlin Jenkins, received C-USA “Freshmen Player of the Week” as she averaged 22.5 points and 15 rebounds.

Jenkins said "I'm thankful for that. I just try as hard as I can every time. But for my team, it put a bigger spot on us. So we just have to work. Other people are going to have to step up. They'll probably double team me and stuff. It just makes our team stronger. My teammates, I expect them to you know, well all of us to step up and show them that we're not just a one game team. We are an all-around team and everybody can give their part and we can win."

The Lady Golden Eagles are on the road Thursday and Saturday taking on Charlotte and Old Dominion.
