Oak Grove fire department battles house fire

HATTIESBURG, Miss - The Oak Grove Fire Department rushed to 613 Burnt Bridge Road to fight a fully-involved house fire.

Lt. Jason Sheldon says upon arrival the entire house was cornered with flames.

"Well after the fire burned through the majority of the rafters in the roof we had some weak spots. We had to go ahead and pull down the covering of the porch because it was dangerous to personnel at that point...we immediately made an attack, putting out a few hot spots" Lt. Sheldon says.

Lt. Sheldon mentions there were no injuries and the house fire is under investigation.

The owners of the home were present, but declined to comment.
