Hub City Humane Society wins contest, opens dog park
HATTIESBURG, Miss - A new dog park on Jackson Rd. opened this past weekend all because of a social media contest.
The Hub City Humane Society (HCHS) participated in a contest and came in second place for a $25,000 dollar donation from the Pet Saves organization.
Virgina Chatham the sheltor director says, "It was kind of different it was really fun. In this businses it is really hard to gain momentum sometimes. One day you are doing well and then you are falling apart."
The money was enough to open the dog park, but HCHS still plans on raising more funds for an agility track and benches.
The first place winner was in Waverly, Iowa.
