Mom on meth facing charges


JONES COUNTY, Miss - This is a press release from the Jones County Sheriff's Department.

On January 19, 2016 the Department of Human Services received a call from a local hospital that a newborn had tested positive for Methamphetamines. DHS in turn sent a referral packet to Jones County Sheriff’s Investigators.

The mother, Fanchon Rogers, 28 of Taylorsville, was tested for the same drug and tested positive. Rogers was charged with Felonious Child Abuse and taken into custody. If she is convicted, she could face a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Rogers’ initial appearance before Judge Howell Beech will be Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 1:30pm at Jones County Justice Court.
