Married couple connected to Hub-City Tuesday stabbing


HATTIESBURG, Miss - Hattiesburg Police Department (HPD) arrested a husband and wife that were connected to a Tuesday stabbing that sent one victim to the hospital.

The incident occured at the 500 block of Columbia Street.

Officers were dispatched to the area after a street fight occured. A bystander flagged the officers to inform him that a victim has been stabbed and was sent to a local hospital in a private vehicle.

After officers confirmed a victim was stabbed they began their investigation.

HPD arrested Mark Gould, 18, near the scene and charged him with one count of aggravated assualt.

After questioning Gould, officers suspected more people were involved.

Lt. Jon Traxler of HPD mentions they've arrested Eve Williams, 34, and Eric Williams, 38 Wednesday night at their home.

Traxler says, "Eve is charged with accessory after the fact. Eric is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and criminal street gang activity."

Lt. Traxler says the investigation is ongoing and the cause of the fight is unclear.
