Petal, Miss. - The G.V. Montgomery V.A. Medical Center's Rural Health Outreach Team will be proving a health clinic for local veterans.

One veteran spoke out Wednesday on how important this is for local veterans.

Veteran advocate, T.J. Gordon Jr. said, “This has been one of my compassion's to learn and show them how to go about applying for their healthcare and their V.A. benefits. The main goal for the V.A. coming out is due to the fact that they have extra funds to reach out to the communities now around the United States...we will be able to help them and guide them in the direction and things that they don't know about the V.A."

The event will be held at the Petal Civic Center at 10 a.m. on Feb. 24.

Veterans are asked to bring a copy of their DD 214 with them.
