HPD urges Pine Belt residents to lock car doors
HATTIESBURG, Miss - The Hattiesburg Police Department (HPD) is urging the public to heed crime prevention tips after an increase in auto-burglaries this past week.

Lt. Traxler of HPD mentions to keep your belongings out of sight as 90% of auto-burglaries occur with unlocked doors in Hattiesburg.
"We are looking at where they occured, how they occured, things we can do to be able to track a pattern" says Lt. Traxler.
HPD mentions to keep your doors locked and remove anything of value out of your vehicle.
