USM police investigate racial graffiti

HATTIESBURG, Miss - The USM Police Department is investigating a case of written graffiti in a library restroom that included racially charged language.

The University says, "We strongly condemn any communication that demeans any person or group and we are committed to creating and maintaining an environment that welcomes, encourages, and supports its diverse community."

Police are reviewing video surveillance footage from common areas of the library.
