Hattiesburg, Miss. - Southern Miss played the University of New Orleans Wednesday, which turned out to be a great ball game.
New Orleans jumped out in front in the fourth inning, with a 3-1 lead over Southern Miss.
But after third baseman, Yaylor Braley, walked to lead off the bottom of the fourth, left-fielder, Chase Scott got his first home-run of the season, which produced a two-run score to tie the game.
The Golden Eagles would then score two more runs.
But in the seventh, New Orleans scored another run, making the score 5-4, Golden Eagles.
Southern Miss took back control of the game, by adding another two runs in the bottom of the seventh, on a sacrifice fly by second baseman, Storme Cooper, which enabled Southern Miss to pull off the 7-4 victory over New Orleans.
The Golden Eagles return back to action Friday night at The Pete against Northwestern State for a three-game home series.
