A gas station shooting leaves one person injured and another behind bars
Forrest County, Miss. - Forrest County Deputies are looking for a person wanted in connection with a Friday night shooting near Highway 49.
Around 6 p.m. on Friday night, deputies said they received a phone call about a person being shot at a Shell Gas Station in the 7200 block of Highway 49.
Deputies said they arrested Kenyatta Stokes, 40, and he is charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Forrest County Investigator, Nick Calico said, "Once deputies arrived on the scene, they started the initial investigation. It was determined that the incident had actually taken place inside of a vehicle and the vehicle had fled the scene prior to law enforcement arriving."
Calico said “we don't know what the motive is at this point. We're still investigating that. We have an idea, but we want to pick up all of the suspects to put all the pieces together before we know a definite reason for the incident."
Deputies said the victim was shot in the neck and transported to a local hospital and is not suffering from any life-threatening injuries.
Deputies said they are also looking for Anthony Hunter Murphy.
