Southern Miss's Jackson and O'Donnell shine on senior night

Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Golden Eagles played North Texas in their last home game of the season on Saturday night.

Guard, Kourtlin Jackson and forward, Michael O'Donnell played their last game at Reed Green Coliseum on Saturday night and balled out to say the least.

O’Donnell said "it's pretty overwhelming for both of us. We both had our families out here, so we both wanted to come out here and get the win and play hard, and I feel like we went out there and got the job done."

Jackson said "it's emotional, family is out here. You want to play the best for them. I mean it's the last game they're going to see. It's big. I remember the first day I walked on and played my first day of college basketball practice, and now it's over."

Jackson said "it was a home-stand. We were not going to lose tonight. It's our senior night. It's just not happening. It was not in our mindset to lose tonight."

Southern Miss beat North Texas, 81-70.

Both, O’Donnell and Jackson had had huge nights.

O'Donnell was 4-6 from the field, and scored 16 points. Jackson was 10-12 from the field, and score 27 points.

The Golden Eagles are on the road this week as they take on Western Kentucky on Thursday and Marshall on Saturday.
