Wayne county sheriff offers reward after high speed chase

WAYNE COUNTY, Miss - Sheriff Jody Ashley of the Wayne County Sheriff's Department is offering a $2,000 reward of his own money for any information on the driver of a high speed chase on March 18.

Sheriff Ashley mentioned he was driving the backroads on Dyes Bridge Rd during the afternoon when he saw a black tinted window Mustang driving at high speeds.

Sheriff Ashley said, "The road is a curvy road and the driver ran passed a couple of cars."

During the chase sheriff Ashley said the driver was throwing drugs out of the window.

The sheriff lost the driver of the mustang as the driver approached the Alabama stateline.

"I was chasing him at 120 mph, the driver must have been driving at least 160 mph" sheriff Ashley said.
