Local Pastor faces six counts of indictment
Hattiesburg, Miss. - One of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church’s leaders has been indicted in Federal Court and is facing charges for defrauding the United States Government.
According to reports, Rev. Kenneth Fairley appeared in court Wednesday afternoon at the William M. Colmer Federal Courthouse and Judge Michael Parker indicted Fairley with six counts.
The first count is for conspiracy to defraud the United States.
The second and third count is theft of government money.
The fourth count is conspiracy to commit money laundering.
The fifth and sixth count is engaging in monetary transactions.
Fairley received a $25,000 unsecured bond and his next appearance in court will be on April 18.
