C-SPAN records historical segment on Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, Miss - C-SPAN is recording a historical segment about Hattiesburg as part of their National Touring series to set air in May.

C-SPAN will film multiple segments about the history of Hattiesburg.

Segments will tell the story of the African American Military Museum, Southern Miss, and other historical landmarks.

C-SPAN's Coordinating Producer, Debbie Lamb, said, "There's other historical things that have happened in other cities besides just Washington D.C. and that was the point."

The tour's goal of the film is to educate others about cities all over the U.S. that contributed to the American history.

"I think it is important for students and for our viewers" added Lamb.
