Weekend burglary leads to 3 Lumberton teens in custody

LUMBERTON, Miss - Three Lumberton teens are in custody and are connected to a weekend burglary in the Lumberton school district.

According to the Lumberton School District's Chief of Police, Todd Wilson, the teens, whose names will not be released, broke into one of the schools damaging thousands of dollars worth of school property.

Lumberton Superintendent, Linda Smith, said, "Well we had some kind of an incident between Friday night and Saturday morning and it was discovered by our maintenance man on Saturday morning."

The maintenance crew informed the school resource officer and administration.

The teens have there initial hearing tomorrow at the Lamar County court.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Lamar County Sheriff's Department, and Lumberton Police Department are also looking into this active case.
