"What's Love Got to Do With it"

Hattiesburg, Miss. - Southern Miss's Residence Hall Association will host a special program on Friday night.

This domestic violence program has been in the planning stages for about a few months now and students and staff at the Residence Hall Association are ready to make people more aware.

USM student, Perry Overstreet said, "Friday we'll be having a domestic violence awareness event. Also, there will be some speakers who will speak on sexual assault also since it's Sexual Assault Awareness month. The goal is to make people aware of sexual assault and domestic violence. A lot of sexual assault and domestic violence goes unreported at the university, so that will also be a component of the program. We'll have a survey to poll people to see who all during their time at Southern Miss who's been sexual assaulted or in a violent relationship."

The event will be held at Scianna Hall from 6-8 p.m.
