Hattiesburg city council to vote on new HPSD board nominee

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Mayor Johnny Dupree made a recent nomination for the newest member of the Hattiesburg Public School Board.

Mayor Dupree nominated Carey Varnado to occupy the school board's vacant position after Mary Williams resigned early April.

The Hattiesburg City Council will approve or deny all appointments to the school board and will vote on Dupree's nomination next Tuesday.
