"A Run in their Boots"
Ellisville, Miss. - Jones County citizens will soon have a great reason to participate in a run.
JCJC’s Magnolia Gold program is having its first 5K Run/Walk.
This fundraiser will help wounded Minutemen of Mississippi.
JCJC’s Magnolia Gold instructor, Buster Bounds said, "This will be our first event and we're hoping to make it an annual event. We're really looking forward to raising the money for the veteran's. That's our main goal. Our students in the Gold program are really getting behind it and they want to give back to the veteran's, especially the wounded veteran's. They're young soldiers, so they're really looking to do something to give back to the veteran's that served already. And all proceeds from the 5K and other events they do throughout the year will go directly to the wounded Minutemen of Mississippi."
The fundraiser will take place on May 14 at Bobcat Stadium at 8 a.m.
Early registration will cost $25.
If you register the day of the race, it will cost $30.
T-shirts will also be provided as well.
