Eagle Fest
Hattiesburg, Miss. - The weekend is near, which means it’s about that time for this year’s Eagle Fest.
Brent Jones, USM senior associate athletic director said, "This is probably one of the most favorite events. Eagle Fest 2016 will have football, baseball, have the Champions Brunch. It's going to be amazing weather, have future Golden Eagle Football. We have a new deal with the 5th Quarter Festival. We're going to have live music. We're going to have free food vendors and a jersey sale. It's going to be a really, really special weekend."
The Golden Eagle football team will have their Black and Gold Scrimmage and the baseball team will host their series against Rice over the weekend.
Jones said "one of the things that we really wanted to do this year was to make it a festival. So it's not a carnival, it's not just the Black and Gold Spring Game or Eagle Fest, it's literally a festival. So we're going to have inflatable’s, we have free food. So every year we're trying to retch it up one more level, if not two, and we think we've done that."
There's also going to be some well-known alums in attendance over the weekend.
Jones said "we have Antoine Cash. We have Vic Purvis. We also have Curley Hallman and Austin Davis coming back to be a part of the Championship Brunch. You want to talk about some legends right there..."
