Team Gold defeats Team Black, 10-7
Hattiesburg, Miss. - The annual Black and Gold Spring game happened on Saturday at The Rock and both teams put on a show.
Head coach, Jay Hopson said, "They had fun with it today. That's kind of what the Spring Game is about. For us today, we had a little draft, so we split the team up. We wanted everybody to get a chance to get out there and play and let the kid’s kind of jaw back-and-forth with each other a little bit and compete."
"Every year at the end of spring, you think about all the things that you want to get better at. I think we're right on pace. It's been a good spring. Certainly we want to continue to get better in everything. That's just football. You're never really happy as a coach, so you just want to hopefully through the rest of the spring and the summer, guys we'll prepare themselves and get ready for 2016, said Hopson."
Red shirt freshman running back, Patrick Brooks, led all rushers with 79 yards on just 13 carries.
